Google’s Snapseed packs a punch with its wide variety of tools and a simple GUI. Competitor mobile Photo Editors!

This free photo editing program features a variety of preset filters just as you would imagine. Unlike other applications, however, you can customize these filters from scratch and even create your own.

This also has all the standard tools, including trimming, straightening, pictures, text, thumbnails, etc. And the sharpening feature does the job without the picture is grainy.

Then it gets fun stuff. Snapseed has detailed masking that will help you edit the depth of the field – sometimes photographers distort the backdrop and focus the subject even further.
